Main Components / Design & Construction Features
Volute Casing
Casing Construction

The fan casing is engineered for superior structural stability to withstand operational stresses without distortion or fluid leakage. Priority is placed on ease of assembly, maintenance accessibility, and rapid inspection. Strategically positioned borescope inspection ports facilitate non-intrusive evaluation of the fan impeller.

Casing Design Analysis

The volute casing profile is pivotal for achieving kinetic pressure recovery and minimizing internal thermodynamic losses. All casing geometries undergo rigorous Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to ensure structural integrity, combined with CFD simulations to optimize aerodynamic flow fields.

Material Selection

Materials are rigorously selected based on project-specific environmental conditions. Typical materials include carbon steel, SS304, SS316L, SS316Ti, duplex, and super duplex stainless steels, with all chemistry and mechanical properties validated via laboratory testing.

Fan Impeller
Impeller Construction

Impellers are fabricated using cutting-edge manufacturing processes tailored to flow duty. Lower-flow impellers are produced via 3D metal printing (additive manufacturing), while larger units are precision-machined. Blade profiles feature 2D profiles for large impellers and 3D profiles for compact designs. Blade count, angles, and curvature are engineered to optimize compression efficiency, eliminate flow separation, and minimize turbulence losses through iterative CFD analyses.

Material Selection

Material selection emphasizes high tensile strength, fatigue endurance, and corrosion resistance. Standard alloys include SS304, SS316L, SS316Ti, 17-4 PH precipitation-hardened steel, duplex alloys, and titanium. Rigorous non-destructive testing (NDT), including Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Dye Penetrant Testing (PT), verifies complete structural integrity.

Stress Analysis

Evaluating stress distribution and localized deflections via Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is standard procedure across all load scenarios. This identifies potential stress concentrations and fatigue limits, ensuring optimal structural margins and safe continuous operation.

Balancing & Rotordynamic Analysis

Following fabrication, each impeller undergoes high-precision dynamic balancing to eliminate unbalance forces and vibration. Comprehensive rotordynamic analysis determines natural frequencies and critical speeds, verifying wide margins from operational RPMs to ensure safe, stable performance.

Gland Seals

Gland seals utilize an advanced floating design with precision carbon rings mounted inside the seal housing. Sealing integrity is enhanced by strategically placed buffer gas/fluid ports using low-pressure steam or treated water, maintaining internal pressure stability and achieving zero external vapor leakage.

Bearings

Heavy-duty anti-friction bearings are lubricated via oil bath or pressurized lube oil circuits. Each skid incorporates a dedicated, self-contained lubrication system. Dual-bearing support within a rigid pedestal ensures maximum dynamic stability, with the overhung impeller mounted securely on the opposite shaft end.

Vibration Monitoring

All units include standard online vibration monitoring sensors and transmitters interfacing directly with the control PLC. Continuous vibration surveillance detects anomalies early, safeguarding capital equipment and preventing unscheduled downtime.

Electric Motor

Units typically feature a direct-drive configuration where the motor couples directly to the fan shaft. For applications requiring elevated speeds, an integral speed-increasing gearbox can be integrated. Motor voltages, frequencies, and enclosures are fully customized to site electrical standards.
